Raised in a small town in south Georgia, I found myself at the center of many racist incidents. From growing up with a white family who didn't accept me to being told at the age of 12 that I was an "abomination" by a preacher's kid, an activist's heart was born in me.
Since then I've spoken out against incidents of injustice in my personal, artistic, and professional life. I protest with my dollars.
It is the burden of my heart and the call on my life to be a voice for change.
I am for justice.
